January Pending Sales and Prices Increase
The Moulton Sarasota Real Estate Report – February 23, 2012
The Sarasota Association of Realtors has just released its January statistics and report. As has been reported in my previous reports to you and also as well-covered by the media, January proved to be a good indicator of a continuing market recovery.
I noted in my last issue of The Moulton Report that the pending sales increase was more than a 54% from December 2011 and 22% greater that January a year ago. Laura Benson, SAR President, was quoted in the report as saying, “we are very encouraged by the pending sales numbers.”
In addition to the pending sales increase, prices also saw a spike for the month. With 22% less units in our inventory, the compression is causing sales prices to inch up, yet another great indicator of sustained regional real estate recovery.
